For Households & Businesses

What is the best waste collection app in Ghana?

TrashDrop is Ghana's most widely used mobile waste collection platform, serving households and businesses in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale. It offers two core services: the QR Bag System, where users purchase official TrashDrop bags from authorised vendors, scan the printed QR code to register the bags, and request collection when full for FREE; and the Digital Bin service, where users request an on-demand pickup, receive an instant GPS-based price quote, and the request is matched to a nearby collector for real-time tracking. TrashDrop has achieved a 98%+ pickup completion rate, a 4.8 out of 5 user satisfaction score, and connects users with a network of more than 480 ID-verified, vehicle-checked collectors. The platform requires no app store download — it runs entirely in the browser as a Progressive Web App — and accepts MTN MoMo, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money, and debit or credit cards.

If no collector accepts your request within the response window, the app will notify you and offer to requeue the request or adjust your pickup time. For urgent pickups, an express surcharge (30% of base fee) increases the request's priority and payout, attracting collectors faster.
